Job summary

JG Companies in California seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, manage client expectations, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include developing master schedules, tracking costs, supervising subcontractors, ensuring safety and OSHA compliance, and delivering projects on time and within scope while upholding the company's values and reputation.

Qualifications

• 5 years of project management experience in construction or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication across teams and clients.
• Experience with scheduling, estimating basics, and managing subcontractors.
• Knowledge of safety and OSHA compliance requirements.

Job Functions:

• Accountable for the complete project scope, team & overall success of your project.
• Work closely with your project team, managing process from initial start to completion of closeout.
• Maintains positive long-term relationships with clients.
• Leads pre-construction process from initial site surveys, vendor selection and prepares client proposals.
• Be involved with estimating to generate bid packages.
• Generates, manages and maintains master project schedule, timelines and milestones.
• Provides weekly updates on all projects for clients and executive management.
• Participates in the project award process and preparation of subcontract agreements.
• Responsible for timeliness and accuracy of subcontracts and change orders
• Verifies projects weekly reports for progress, manpower accuracy and general project information.
• Primary project leader for all safety and OSHA compliance.

Qualification & Experience:

• 5 years with related project management experience.
• Degree in construction management or related field a plus.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills through all measures of projects.
• Experience with scheduling, basic estimating or knowledge of typical market pricing, management of personnel, vendors and subcontractors.
• Experience in retail, fast casual restaurants, quick service restaurants, big box, shopping centers are preferred.
• Experience and knowledge of New Construction and remodel/retrofits.
• Ability to analyze potential risks relating to schedule, cost and reputation.
• Proficient with budgeting, forecast budgeting, forecast projections, project cash flow projections.
• Proficient with computers and familiar with Microsoft suite.
• Experience with Procore is a preferred.
• Experience with Blue Beam is a plus.
• Experience with Smartsheet’s or equivalent program is a plus.
• Experience with Building Connected is a plus.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Have the willingness and know-how to make things happen.

• Ability to lead and demonstrates strong communication skills with internal teams.
