Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, based in Dallas, TX (Addison), seeks a Construction Project Manager to assist the Business Unit Manager in achieving strategic objectives. The role focuses on project management, delivery, and total quality at client sites, bringing required resources to fulfill contractual obligations and contribute technically.

Travel up to 80% may be required; home office will be Dallas, TX. PMP preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in project management, mechanical system concept development, design, and layout; project budgeting and scheduling; preparing technical sections for project and procurement specifications; and reviewing drawings and technical specifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering, design and documentation principles; understanding of materials and systems; and thorough knowledge of engineering detailing and construction methodology, applied in project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects that deliver engineering solutions to clients consistently exceeding expectations, on time, and within budget.
  • Develop and administer project budgets, fiscal controls, and quality control provisions; perform project cost estimating and value engineering as appropriate.
  • Represent the firm in business with clients, consultants, contractors, and public and/or private agencies and organizations.
  • Participate in business development and quality assurance as directed by the Business Unit Manager.
  • Provide technical assistance in proposal development and presentations for new work; report and study preparation; and project delivery.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Firm's Principals and client managers as deemed appropriate.

Position Summary

We have a Construction Project Manager position open in our Dallas, TX (Addison) office. The Project Manager will assist the Business Unit Manager in achieving the overall strategic objectives of the company. The primary areas of responsibility are project management, project delivery, and total quality management at the client site. The Project Manager is expected to bring all necessary resources to fulfill the firm's contractual obligations and to make a significant technical contribution through his/her own efforts.

Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of related experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and capability in Project management, mechanical system concept development, design, and layout; project budgeting and scheduling; preparing technical sections for project and procurement specifications; and reviewing drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Project Manager is not required to be a licensed professional engineer. PMP Certification preferred, but not required.

Client Interaction

All WM employees are expected to interact with clients in a highly professional manner. The Project Manager I is expected to properly represent WM's service offerings to clients and to quantify and describe the business value associated with those offerings. The Project Manager I will participate directly with client site management and staff for daily work duties as assigned.

Working Environment and Physical Effort
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office and industrial manufacturing work environment. The Project Manager may be subject to travel assignments constituting up to 80% of the work schedule; travel varies as a function of the project.
  • Home office will be Dallas, TX
  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
