As a Construction Project Leader/Engineer, you’ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with award-winning engineering, construction management, and design-build project delivery. We are looking for a passionate Construction Engineer in the Madison or southwest Wisconsin area who is driven by collaboration, exceeding expectations, and challenging the status quo. You’ll provide construction engineering and inspection services on highway, roadway, bridge and other various infrastructure projects in Madison and across southern Wisconsin. As part of our project team, the responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:

• Being the Construction Project Leader or Assistant Project Lead on WisDOT projects.

• Managing a construction project team

• Documenting contractor progress and quantities completed

• Performing daily inspections to verify that the Contractor work is being completed in accordance with the contract documents

• Preparing daily construction reports that identify the contractor workforce, equipment, and activities, site visitors, and includes daily progress photos

• Reviewing contract plans, specifications, submittals and material information

• Reporting and documenting any field conditions that deviate from the Contract

• Utilizing contract documents to perform general monitoring and documentation of construction activities.

You’ll be accountable for interacting with our construction sites, clients, and management to support the project team. Here's what you'll need

• 10 years of experience in roadway/highway, bridge, or general civil construction projects

• Experience as a Construction Project Leader on WisDOT projects

• Ability to drive to/from project locations in SW Wisconsin and the Madison area.

• Working knowledge of construction engineering and document control

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook

• Excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• OSHA 10- or 30- hour training

• Working knowledge of Bluebeam, MicroStation, Civil3D and/or AutoCAD

The base salary range for this position is $100,300.00 to $147,900.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
