Job summary

TJX Companies is seeking a Construction Project Lead to oversee miscellaneous construction projects across Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Homesense, and Sierra networks. You will assist with schedules, manage General Contractors, distribute project documents, and monitor proposals and invoices to ensure on-time, cost-effective execution.

The role requires strong organization, project planning, and written/verbal communication skills, with experience reading blueprints.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Construction, Facilities, Store Planning, Fixturing, Architectural Design, or related construction trades.
• Strong organization and project planning skills.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
• Must be able to manage multiple projects at once.
• Ability to read blueprints including Floor Plans, Elevations, Site Plans.
• Retail construction knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create Construction contract preparation memos and DocuSigns for all assigned projects.
• Ensure General Contractors adhere to specifications for all assigned projects.
• Track and review budgets, proposals, and invoices for all construction projects.
• Award miscellaneous construction projects to General Contractors.
• Send kick-off emails for all assigned projects and conduct remote kick-off meetings when applicable.
• Track progress of all assigned projects and adjust contractor schedules for timely completion and cost-effective execution.
• Perform related administrative tasks on a regular basis.

Construction Project Lead directly oversees miscellaneous construction projects within the Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Homesense and Sierra chains. Aids in project schedules and assigning General Contractors. Distributes all required project documents to external and internal contacts. Negotiates pricing, reviews and approves proposals and invoices, tracks progress and ensures close-outs for all miscellaneous construction initiatives assigned. Supplies TJX Field Organization and Management updates detailing the status of all miscellaneous construction initiatives on a regular basis.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Create Construction contract preparation memos and DocuSigns for all assigned projects.

• Responsible for adjusting Contractor schedule strategies to ensure timely completion of projects and cost-effective execution methods.

Who We Are Looking For:

• 3+ years in Construction, Facilities, Store Planning, Fixturing, Architectural Design, or related construction trades is preferred.
• Strong organization and project planning skills are necessary.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) are a must.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects at any one time.
• Highly self-motivated, works well in a team environment.
• Understanding and ability to read blueprints, specifically Floor Plans, Elevations, and Site Plans.
• Strong knowledge of store layouts, HVAC, electrical and plumbing criteria would be desired.
• Experience working on complex projects is good to have.
• Retail experience is preferred.
• General fixturing, and retail store planning knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to decipher landlord and city codes as it relates to exterior signs.
• Adept in Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Word. Lucernex and Service Channel experience a plus.

This position has a starting salary range of $76,800.00 to $97,900.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
