Job summary

S+B James Construction is seeking a site operations support role in Palo Alto, CA. You will work alongside project engineers, managers, and superintendents to support day-to-day project activities on active construction sites.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields, with strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn project workflows and site management.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills required.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and daily reports.
• Help track project schedules, budgets, and progress updates.
• Support subcontractor coordination and communication.
• Observe and assist with site management activities (quality control, safety walks, logistics).
• Participate in jobsite meetings and learn project workflows.
• Review drawings and specifications to gain familiarity with design and construction processes.
• Assist with procurement and quantity take-offs as needed.
