Job summary

Dewberry seeks a Construction Project Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in our Ashland, VA office. You will work with project managers to support plans, purchasing, submittals, and schedules while gaining exposure to all project phases from concept to completion.

The internship offers mentoring from seasoned construction managers and opportunities to grow within a multi-discipline team, handling diverse projects in varied environments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Interest in optimizing buildings and the construction industry.
• Prior construction internship experience is a plus.
• Solution-based problem solver.
• Ability to work with and grow in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, execution, and monitoring of project plans, purchasing activities, submittal reviews, and project schedules.
• Support project managers and teams in coordinating submittals and schedules.
• Collaborate with project managers to move projects through all phases.
