Job summary

Overwatch Construction Management is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our team for a range of construction projects, including tenant improvements and site work at CSULB. The role emphasizes on-site technical support, strong document control, and close collaboration with the construction manager.

Applicants should have 3-6+ years in project engineering, preferably with institutional or higher-education projects.

Qualifications

• 3-6+ years of project engineer experience, including major capital projects.
• Institutional/Higher Ed experience preferred.
• CSU experience is a plus but not required.
• Design-Build or CM at Risk Experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, techniques, and materials.
• Proficient in construction management software such as Procore or Primavera P6.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical and administrative support to the construction manager.
• Responsible for project document control, i.e. RFIs, submittals, change orders, ASIs, etc.
• Organize and maintain project files
• Assist CM with change order management. The PE shall be able to independently review change order requests for merit and fair pricing, and prepare change orders for processing.
• Manage the closeout and turn over process.
• Assist CM to prepare project files for CSU system audit at project completion.
• Site conditions verification and support as needed.
