Job summary

Independence Construction in Columbus, OH is expanding its team and seeks a Project Engineer to assist the PM and/or superintendent across construction projects. You will coordinate with subs, vendors, and the project team, manage meetings, monitor budgets, and ensure logs (RFI, submittals, drawing) are up to date.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CM or engineering, 1-3 years of experience, strong communication, budgeting know-how, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related experience are required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of budgeting and expense control.
• Able to write reports and business correspondence.
• Able to organize work, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Able to work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with subs, vendors, and project team.
• Administer and monitor contracts with Owners, subs, and vendors.
• Coordinate and expedite materials and services with the superintendent.
• Schedule and manage meetings through project phases.
• Assist PM with budget management, revisions, cash flow, and reports.
• Review and coordinate structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
• Oversee change management processes and cost proposals.
• Log and process RFIs and submittals with logs up to date.
• Maintain drawing, submittal, and RFI logs at all times.
• Coordinate owner/Architect/CM meetings.
• Assist in Master Schedule creation and updates.
• Support QA/QC program development and execution.
• Assist with project close-out and punch list processes.
• Coordinate warranty requirements during the warranty period.
