What You Will Contribute To OHM Advisors

As a construction engineer at OHM Advisors, you will contribute to the successful execution of infrastructure projects by overseeing construction activities, ensuring quality, managing costs, and maintaining safety and environmental compliance.

Your Responsibilities

  • This position involves day-to-day interfacing with project team members, with our clients, contractors, and other technical experts and disciplines regarding project related items.
  • An opportunity exists for a variety of project experiences and the potential for advancement in the organization.
  • Effectively communicate project details to the project team and clients.
  • Provide project related guidance, coaching, and direction to staff.
  • Manage and prepare project scope descriptions, schedules, and budgets.


Requirements

Education, Experience, & Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or better.
  • Minimum of 5 plus years of combined experience in the industry, minimum of a year in construction observation and/or management is required.
  • Work experiences such as, but not limited to, water main, sanitary sewer, road, pathways, and stormwater system experience also desirable.
  • The ability to obtain the state PE license within 3 years of employment.


Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of established construction practices, procedures and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal delivery requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as work orders, safety rules, procedure manuals, and construction drawings/plans.
  • Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving.
  • Computer skills including internet, email (MS Outlook), MS Excel, and MS Word.


Preferred Qualifications

  • MDOT / LAP construction project management experience is preferred.
