Job summary

C&S Companies is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support project management for a Sacramento-based project, providing on-site field and office construction support, RFI coordination, submittals and shop drawings, and change-order verification. The role requires coordinating subcontractor activities and ensuring plans and specs are followed.

You will use Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office to document progress, track schedules, and support PMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• Familiar with interpreting drawings, contracts, and sequencing
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to manage a team of varied disciplines
• Proficient with Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software

Responsibilities

• Responsible for and coordinating all activities on the jobsite, including field support/oversight of subcontractors, labor planning, scheduling, project management, and project close-out.
• Assists the Project Manager in subcontract administration process, including reviewing/controlling project costs and budgets.
• Assist project team as field superintendent with document controls, submittal, and all associated e-construction input.
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractor activities, document construction occurrences and activities, and ensure quality and compliance with plans and specs.
• Ensure subcontractors, foreman, and crews have materials, equipment, and information to perform the job.
• Provide project coverage on site.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

Position Overview

• Responsible for and coordinating all activities on the jobsite, including field support/oversight of subcontractors, labor planning, scheduling, project management, and project close-out.
• Assists the Project Manager in subcontract administration process, including reviewing/controlling of project costs and budgets.
• Assist project team as field superintendent with document controls, submittal, and all associated e-construction input.
• Responsible for coordinating and scheduling subcontractor activities, documenting construction occurrences and activities, and ensure the quality and compliance with plans and specs are met.
• Ensures that subcontractors, foreman, and crews have the materials, equipment, and information necessary to perform the job.
• Must be able to provide project coverage on site.
• Use software such as Procore, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam to support PMs, and executives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or another related field.
• Basic knowledge of the construction industry and construction principles/practices.
• Basic knowledge of how to interpret construction drawings, contract documents, and construction sequencing
• Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, plus ability to manage a team of varied disciplines
• Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment
• Advanced knowledge of MS office, Bluebeam, MS Project
• Functional with Procore and scheduling software a plus
• Must be flexible for learning new things and a trustworthy teammate.
