Position Summary
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support project execution across civil construction and site development projects, while developing into a future Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Support
- Support Project Managers in day-to-day project execution
- Assist with planning, coordination, and tracking of project activities
- Help align field operations with project schedule and priorities
- Follow up on outstanding items to keep work progressing
Document Control & Communication
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Track and distribute updated plans, specifications, and revisions
- Maintain organized project files and communication logs
- Ensure field teams have the most current information
Field Support & Alignment
- Work closely with superintendents and field crews to support execution
- Visit jobsites regularly to stay connected to field operations
- Assist with layout coordination, quantities, and problem-solving
- Help bridge communication between field and office
Tracking & Reporting
- Track installed quantities, production, and project progress
- Assist with daily reports, cost tracking, and forecasting support
- Identify potential issues early and communicate with the team
- Support job cost tracking and project performance visibility
Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination
- Assist with subcontractor coordination and follow-up
- Track material deliveries, lead times, and procurement status
- Help ensure subcontractors are aligned with project requirements
Quality & Compliance Support
- Assist with inspection coordination and documentation
- Support quality control processes and ensure work aligns with plans and specs
- Help maintain compliance with project and regulatory requirements

Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in construction or related field
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction software is a plus
- Strong work ethic and desire to grow into a Project Manager role
- Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or field experience in civil construction or site development
- Exposure to RFIs, submittals, or project documentation processes
- Familiarity with software such as Procore, HCSS, or similar
- Strong problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail
Work Environment
- Combination of office and active construction site work
- Regular site visits required
- Fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
