About the Department: The Construction Division at INDOT is primarily responsible for managing and executing the agency's multimillion-dollar contracts for preventive maintenance and new construction of INDOT's facilities (i.e. roadways, bridges, culverts, and traffic signals). Our mission-driven, service-led team accomplishes this by overseeing all phases of the construction contract and progress to ensure contractors deliver a quality product that conforms to plans and specifications. The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for contract management of the district's construction projects. You will work with designers, project managers, and agency leaders while providing on-site support of project scope, payments, construction methods and equipment, project progress, scheduling, and contractor forecasts. Additionally, you will manage a team of highway technicians (inspectors), helping to mentor and train them in testing materials and inspecting best practices while issuing feedback on performance. As part of INDOT's construction division, you have the ability to be a part of various complex projects, providing value in the service provided as quality assurance for all taxpayers in Indiana.

This position is located in INDOT’s Crawfordsville District, Construction Department.
Salary :
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $75,010.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
