Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Greensboro, NC office. The role may require travel to various industrial sites within or beyond NC. A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience is expected.

The Project Engineer will support scheduling, cost tracking, and coordination with the project team, subcontractors, and clients. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to ensure project success.

• Flexibility to work at multiple job sites.
• Engineer-in-training certification, Journeyman license and field experience preferred, but not required.
• Maintain regular communication with project team and stakeholders.

• Generate, maintain and facilitate project documentation in the execution of the construction processes for all phases of the project.
• Perform material take offs from drawings to help generate estimates and changes.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, efficiency and integrity in all aspects of the work.
• Maintain flexibility with assigned work environment and assigned project locations. May be required to commute to various jobsite locations.
• Attend and conduct meetings as required.
• Comply with all company operating policies, procedures and safety programs as established.
• Other duties may be assigned as specific project dictates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions / Duties:

This will include, but is not limited to, requests for information, submittals, drawings, specifications, purchase orders, material orders, change orders, close-out documents, etc.

• Maintain flexibility with assigned work environment and assigned project locations. May be required to commute to various jobsite locations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related field; OR 2 years’ prior experience in related field via internships, co-ops and/or industry employment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, stay organized and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability in utilized a wide range of computer software.
• Engineer-in-training certification, Journeyman license and field experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills.

Physical Demands

Working Conditions / Physical Effort:

Conditions include working in office, with occasional entry into shop, busy traffic areas, and warehouses. Occasional exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property. Must be able to effectively use any required PPE equipment. Potential Jobsite Visits.
