Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Coordinator in Columbia, MD to support the City of Baltimore DOT and Construction Management Team. You will coordinate with engineers, contractors and agencies to advance highway, bridge and pedestrian projects while ensuring ADA compliance.

Responsibilities include field inspections coordination, schedule reviews, and stakeholder problem solving, with a focus on safe, efficient project execution within a growing firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in construction management/inspection of highway, bridge, ramp and/or pedestrian infrastructure projects that meets current Americans with Disabilities (ADA) standards.
• Knowledge of construction methods, scheduling and materials.
• Knowledge of inspection methods.
• Ability to deal effectively with contractors, engineers, architects and representatives of utility and government agencies.
• Supervisory ability.
• Working knowledge of state and federal safety, environment guidelines and regulations.
• Working skill in operating computer equipment, software programs and field inspection equipment; read and interpret roadway plans and contract specifications; maintain detailed records, and communicate effectively with agency, contractor personnel and the public.
• Dependable transportation is required.
• Knowledge of field inspection equipment; ability to read and interpret roadway plans and contract specifications; and maintain detailed records.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with technical staff, consultants, contractors and other agencies to expedite the completion of construction projects for highways, bridges, ramps and/or pedestrian infrastructure projects that meets current ADA standards.
• Coordinate the field inspections for one or more projects including assigning and reviewing the work, training, evaluating work performance and providing technical guidance.
• Reviews and evaluates construction schedules and coordinate adjustments to problems arising during construction.
• Schedules pre-construction and progress meetings.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for solutions to problems arising during construction.
• Utilizes computer and business software packages to prepare correspondence relating to projects, manage project workflow and maintain project records.
• Performs related work as required.
• Work effectively with others.
• Understand and follow instructions.
