Job summary

H+M Industrial EPC is seeking a Construction Project Controls Manager to lead the Project Controls team on direct-hire EPC projects in Pasadena, TX. You will oversee scheduling, cost-control, and reporting to Leadership.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of project controls experience, with 5+ years in planning/scheduling using Primavera P6, and a proven ability to coordinate across finance, accounting, and construction teams. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of professional experience in project controls.
• At least 5 years planning and scheduling experience in P6.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field (substitution allowed).
• Experience leading a Project Controls team on direct hire Construction projects preferred.
• Experience interfacing with Finance and Accounting teams.
• Experience in EPC/design services project controls preferred.
• Field construction cost management experience on direct hire projects preferred.
• Strong planning and scheduling, baseline development, and progress updates.

Construction Project Controls Manager

Department: HQ - Project Controls

Work schedule: M-F regular hours

Core Job Responsibilities

Project Controls Manager is responsible for the leadership of the Construction Project Controls team. This includes supporting and executing business strategy, developing high-performance teams, and managing all aspects of Construction Project Controls.

• Lead and manage all aspects of the Construction Project Controls.
• Coordinate and interface with Construction Department and Teams.
• Determine department objectives and priorities with Leadership.
• Serve as the Technical Advisor and provide senior-level input and evaluation on Project Controls projects company wide.
• Prepare summary reports to communicate the status of projects to Leadership.
• Develop and maintain baseline schedules
• Conduct Progress Updates
• Resource Planning for Project Execution
• Develop cost loaded schedules.
• Analyze schedules and recommending recovery/mitigation actions
• Float Path / Critical Path Analysis
• Track quantities, hours and productivity metrics and analyze variance root causes
• Generate summary reports, KPIs, metrics and dashboards
• Partner with Construction Staff to ensure consistent Project Controls procedures are implemented company-wide.
• Anticipate and solve complex Project Controls problems.
• Lead all department planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, analysis, and ongoing recommendations for improvement.
• Prepare various Project Controls plans and reports, financial summaries, and related activities for Leadership.
• Other duties assigned by Leadership.
• Establish and maintain a culture aligned with H+M Core Values.
• Manage ongoing development of assigned Project Controls staff.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years related professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years planning and scheduling experience in P6
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• Experience in Project Controls on direct hire Construction projects preferred.
• Experience managing a Project Controls team preferred.
• Field construction cost management experience on direct hire projects preferred.
• Experienced in Project Controls management on Design Services through EPC projects preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to interface, coordinate, troubleshoot with Finance and Accounting teams.
• Experience in conceptual up-front project planning preferred.
