Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Controls Section Manager in Missouri to lead the section and resources within the construction global practice. You will advance business strategy, develop high-performance teams, and promote the Burns & McDonnell culture, values and mission.

You will direct cost, schedule and earned value practices, manage staff loading and budgets, coordinate with regional offices, and partner with other power lines to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or related field with 5 years of related experience.
• Experience may replace the degree requirement.
• Previous leadership or management experience is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels.
• Ability to influence, lead, and manage change.
• Strong project management skills and strategic perspective.
• Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Project Controls team; direct work assignments and performance reviews.
• Support career development and learning opportunities for resources.
• Maintain consistent Cost, Schedule and Earned Value practices throughout projects.
• Coordinate with regional offices and other Power Business Lines for efficiency.
• Ensure staffing levels meet project requirements and goals.
• Participate in project planning, estimating, cost control and scheduling.
• Oversee project execution within budget while addressing safety and quality.
• Communicate project status, risks, costs to stakeholders and manage risk plans.
