Job summary

Southeast General Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Controller to oversee accounting operations and support financial management of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting expertise, excellent organization, and a thorough understanding of job costing and project financials.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily accounting, managing job costing and budgets, and coordinating year-end statements and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with construction industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction job costing and project accounting.
• Experience with construction accounting software such as QuickBooks, Viewpoint, Sage, CRE, Procore or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Financial Reporting.
• Strong Analytical, communication and leadership skills.
• CPA or Construction accounting certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Manage job costing, project budgets, and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, cash-flow reports, and management reports.
• Monitor project profitability, billing, retainage, and contract compliance.
• Work closely with estimators and senior management.
• Establish and maintain strong internal accounting controls.
• Coordinate year-end financial statements, audits and tax preparation.
