Job summary

Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty Company, is seeking a Project Accountant in Seattle, WA. The Project Accountant is the primary accounting and administrative support for a construction project, from startup through final closeout.

Serves as the liaison between the jobsite and the finance department, ensuring all accounting standard operating procedures are followed at the jobsite. Performs activities related to contracts, bonds, insurance, payables, liens, billings, payroll/cost/budget reports

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; 2–4 years of construction accounting experience.
• Proficiency in basic accounting principles.
• Strong customer service and verbal/written skills.
• Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Certified Payroll.

Responsibilities

• Provide information on project status and communicate between field and corporate.
• Ensure job cost and AR reports are accurate and balanced with the general ledger.
• Enter all financial paperwork into the accounting system (change orders, payables, payroll).
• Process subcontractor monthly pay requisitions with accurate attachments.
• Maintain filing system for EEO/MBE requirements and project records.
• Support monthly billings to owners and project cost reporting.
