Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking an experienced Project Accountant for an established commercial construction company in Buckhead, Atlanta, to support multiple projects and collaborate with project managers and leadership. The role focuses on managing project financials, billing, cost tracking, contract administration, and reporting from kickoff through closeout, with in-office requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of project accounting experience in commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction billing, job costing, and contract administration.
• Experience with construction accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting for multiple active construction projects.
• Process owner billings, subcontractor pay applications, and change orders.
• Track project costs, budgets, commitments, and forecasts.
• Prepare monthly project financial reports and cost analyses.
• Reconcile project accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with contract administration and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and subcontract documentation.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects remain financially on track.
• Maintain accurate records within the accounting and project management systems.
