Job summary

Corenic Construction Group seeks a Project Accountant to support the Accounting and Operations teams. The role interfaces between accounting and project management to assist in A/R, A/P and other accounting/project management tasks for construction jobs.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and have 3-4 years of construction project accounting experience with strong organizational skills and experience in AP/AR.

• Strong organization skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Previous experience with AP/AR.

Our Opportunity:

Corenic is seeking aProject Accountantto support the Accounting and Operations team. In support of the accounting and finance activities, this roleserves as the liaison between accounting and project management to assist in A/R, A/P and other accounting/project management functions of construction jobs.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This role reports to the Director of Accounting and is responsible for the following essential duties and responsibilities:

• Effectively communicate and work as a team with Project Managers (PM) regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to Owner and vendor billing
• Enter Bi-Weekly Payroll into ERP
• Work with PM teams on client billing to ensure that all costs are covered in the monthly Owner billings
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of project accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash receipts
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner
• Assure internal control processes and compliance
• Analyze job cost reports to see if there are any fee fluctuations not caused by timing. Work with PM team and Senior Project Accountantto take any corrective action required to correct fees, if applicable
• Recommend and implement agreed process improvements
• Monthly bank and vendor statement reconciliations
• Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconcilement
• Perform additional assignments, as directed by the Director of Accounting
• Communicate and coordinate with other departments as needed
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
