Project Accountant (Construction Accounting)

Responsibilities
  • Review of financial status of projects to verify remaining contract balances
  • Creation of job cost reports
  • Analysis of accounts payable and payment bond claims, Owner claims and change orders
  • Preparation of payment applications
  • Analysis of the financial status of construction contractor
  • Assistance in the of Estimated Loss Reports based on contract status
  • Analysis of WIP schedules to determine contract status and cost to complete
  • Review and reconciliation of payment requisitions and invoices to record and coordinate appropriate payments
  • Quality control of check distribution
  • Creation of future forecasts to determine appropriate fund allocation
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of construction accounting experience, but we will provide sufficient training.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Intermediary to Advanced Excel Skills
  • Working knowledge of Accounting Software and Tools: Sage, QuickBooks, ComputerEase ()
  • Certified Public Accountant license a plus
  • Surety experience is a plus, but we will train
