Upchurch is a rapidly growing, full‑service building engineering company specializing in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical services in the southeastern United States. The company, founded in 1970 and headquartered in Horn Lake, MS, seeks a Purchasing Coordinator to support day‑to‑day procurement operations across the organization and ensure timely delivery of materials for projects.

The role involves close collaboration with Project Managers, field leadership, and the Procurement team

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in construction or related industry
• Familiarity with construction materials and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience with BuildOps or other construction ERP software preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and related office tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders in BuildOps according to policies and project requirements.
• Track order status, delivery schedules, and follow up with vendors for on‑time receipt.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and field leadership to confirm material requests and order details.
• Review packing slips and invoices for accuracy against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage backorders, returns, substitutions, and material issues to minimize disruption.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, including pricing, vendor information, and delivery timelines.
• Assist in maintaining vendor files, price lists, and preferred vendor documentation.
• Support vendor rebate tracking, reporting, and other procurement initiatives as directed.
• Assist with basic material forecasting and bulk purchasing when applicable.
