Job summary

McShane Construction Company is seeking summer interns to participate in and learn the activities required to sell, design, and construct a project, including project controls, schedule management, quality management, and safety. The program includes training, field visits, career coaching, weekly intern roundtables, and company events.

The internship is a seasonal full-time, in-person role split between the local office and assigned jobsite, with hours of $23-$25 per hour. A valid U.S.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Attention to detail, problem solving, reliability, and a professional attitude are highly valued.
• Proficient with computers, Internet, and office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email).

Responsibilities

• Learn to manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, drawings changes, meeting minutes, punch lists, and closeouts.
• Assist in review and approval process of documents for project controls.
• Support subcontractor insurance compliance tracking.
• Maintain logs related to project controls.
• Participate in preparing project schedules and updates.
• Assist in QA/QC logs and inspections.
• Assist in weekly jobsite safety orientation meetings.
