Job Title: Construction Planner I

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73107

Pay rate: $27.13/hr on W2

Job Description:

  • Constructs, builds, repairs, and inspects Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networks to provide voice, video, and data to residential and commercial customers.
  • Coordinates with other utilities for permits, joint trench, pole applications, and service issues.

Construction Planner I Responsibilities:

  • Performs field engineering of proposed projects, ensuring alternative routing delivers cost-effective construction designs.
  • Coordinates all customer implementation activities, including site walkthroughs, node placements, and subcontract labor.
  • Coordinates contractor work, obtains permits, access, or ROW agreements as applicable, and distributes design prints and necessary documents.
  • Negotiates and approves design or construction changes.
  • Researches and reviews plans, gathers data, and lists material requirements for projects.
  • Coordinates with public works, developers, commercial customers, building owners, and utilities on joint trench projects.
  • Maintains workflow databases and updates schedules.
  • Assists in managing and estimating costs, material planning, and budgets.
  • Estimates construction costs, prepares budgets, and tracks expenses.
  • Verifies serviceability, surveys proposed routes, and estimates material, construction, and labor costs.
  • Initiates customer contacts, secures access or ROW agreements, completes route designs, and meets customer needs.
  • May order materials, verify invoices, or coordinate with administrative personnel.
  • May plan fiber splicing and activation.
  • May inspect construction work or coordinate inspections.
  • Releases addresses as serviceable and notifies departments of serviceability.
  • Completes project closure tasks, reconciles assets, and generates reports upon project completion.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience; 2 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
  • Entry-level support role requiring basic skills; some impact at the department level.

Work Complexity:

  • Performs routine work following prescribed rules; seeks guidance on nonroutine issues; deviations are cleared by supervisors.

Autonomy:

  • Works under close supervision with limited independent judgment; work involves detailed checks and review.

Knowledge:

  • Requires minimal knowledge beyond the assigned work; demonstrates understanding of routine tasks.
