Job summary

Ledgent in the United States (Oregon) is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its Tualatin team and manage bi-weekly payroll for a diverse workforce. You will work closely with leadership to ensure accurate and timely payroll administration in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong knowledge of payroll regulations, experience with payroll systems and HRIS, and a commitment to confidentiality and quality service.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Construction, union, or project-based payroll experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • CPP certification is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately for a diverse employee population.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Administer prevailing wage and union payroll requirements, as applicable.
  • Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Partner with HR regarding employee changes, benefits deductions, and leave-related payroll impacts.
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for audits.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with excellent customer service.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within payroll processes and systems.
