Job Description

This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include, but is not limited to, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, and/or excavators.

  • $24 - $30 per hour starting wage.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules and out-of-town overnight stays.
  • $55 per hour per diem when out of town.
  • Company-sponsored CDL Program available for eligible employees.
Qualifications
Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Operate all heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Interact with construction general laborers and/or crew members to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of equipment to meet grade specifications.
  • Interact courteously and respectfully with residents and the public.
  • Report any complaints from the public.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Practice workplace safety.
  • Ensure access to houses and locations.
  • Use equipment to level roads and ensure proper drainage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • One to two years of experience using construction tools and equipment including air hammers, concrete saws, scaffolding, trench digging equipment, etc.
  • Knowledge of operation of front-end loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.
  • Knowledge of signals used to communicate with construction machinery operators.
  • Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Ability to keep proprietary information confidential.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work various schedules including nights, weekends, and regional travel.
