Schaumburg & Polk, Inc. (SPI) is seeking a Construction Observer to join our Terrell, Texas team. You will perform field observations, document progress, and support project managers with inspections and reports.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of civil construction observation experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read plans. This full-time role offers growth within a respected municipal infrastructure firm.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical education in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in civil construction observation or inspection involving water/wastewater utilities, paving, drainage, or similar municipal infrastructure projects.
• Basic understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in field reporting.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observations of construction activities to assess general compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and practices.

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic reporting tools.
• Ability to perform assigned field observation duties with appropriate guidance while maintaining regular communication with the Project Manager and senior field personnel.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate active construction sites.
