Job summary

Inberg-Miller Engineers in Casper, WY seeks a Construction Materials Technician/Laboratory Manager to perform field and laboratory testing on soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt. The role involves testing earthwork, concrete placement, asphalt paving, and masonry work with travel up to 50% as required by projects.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years of materials testing experience, HS diploma or GED, and may have ACI Field Testing I certification.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 6-8 years experience in construction materials testing.
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing I certification preferred.
  • Experience with field and/or laboratory testing desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organizational and written communication skills.

Summary

IME is looking for a self-motivated individual to work, under the supervision of senior engineers, on a wide array of projects. Responsibilities include include field and laboratory testing of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt. Projects to be tested include earthwork, concrete placement, asphalt paving, and masonry construction . Travel is dictated by our clients and projects.

Responsibilities

Typical duties will depend on the applicant’s technical and professional experience may include:

  • Ability to foster and maintain positive and effective professional relationships with clients, and colleagues.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, and work independently, or as part of a project team.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely, logical manner and exercise discretion and good judgment in accomplishing assigned tasks and goals.
  • Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and intellectual skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks to completion.
  • Become proficient with computer programs associated with Microsoft Office Suite operating systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
  • Proficient with computer programs associated with editing PDF formats (Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam Revu or similar).
  • Ability to become proficient in the use of laboratory and field-testing equipment and procedures.

Salary Grade- $32.19 - $37.43 (Staff III)

Travel up to 50%

Requirements
  • High School diploma or G.E.D
  • 6-8 years experience in construction materials testing.
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing I certification preferred
  • Any relevant experience with field and/or laboratory construction materials testing experience is desirable.
  • Proficiency in applicable software tools, including MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat (or similar).
  • Strong organizational and written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, and drug/alcohol test
