This role is based in our Rone Engineering division in Lenexa, KS.

This Opportunity

We are seeking Construction Materials Testing Technicians in Lenexa, KS to perform field inspections and testing for commercial, industrial, and transportation construction projects. This is a great opportunity for construction professionals looking to transition into testing and inspection roles.

Your Responsibilities
  • Perform testing on building sites and facilities
  • Interpret project plans and specifications for compliance
  • Conduct soil density testing using nuclear gauge and sand cone methods
  • Sample and test concrete according to ASTM standards
  • Prepare and submit field reports with observations and results
  • Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections, and rebar inspections
  • Follow safety policies and monitor work procedures for compliance
  • Interact with client representatives at project sites
  • Perform data analysis and calculations for testing accuracy
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in construction industry
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliability to arrive on time at project sites
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic proficiency in Excel
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours
  • Pass physical, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • 0-5+ years in construction materials testing
  • Certifications such as ACI Field Level I, ICC, CWI, NDT certifications
  • Ability to evaluate soil subgrade and read site drawings
Physical Demands
  • Medical clearance required
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in outdoor conditions
