Job summary

A national provider of testing services is seeking a qualified candidate to perform testing on construction sites in Houston, Texas. Qualifications

  • Must have a satisfactory driving record.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing on general building sites and facilities.
  • Interpret project plans for compliance.
  • Conduct soil density testing and concrete sampling.
  • Prepare and submit written field reports.
  • Interact with client representatives at project sites.
  • Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, and inspect rebar
  • Test and work in accordance with Company safety policies
  • Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications
  • Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites
  • Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data

Job Summary:
  • Perform testing on general building sites and facilities
  • Interpret project plans and specifications for compliance with project requirements
  • Perform soil density testing using nuclear gauge in accordance with ASTM and project specifications on site at construction projects
  • Perform sampling and testing of concrete in accordance with ASTM and project specifications
  • Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations and density calculations and results
  • Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, and inspect rebar
  • Test and work in accordance with Company safety policies
  • Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications
  • Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites
  • Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data
Education/Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work outdoors in TX weather conditions/extremes
  • Ability to drive a company truck, valid driver’s license
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy
Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., standing and walking as needed over potentially uneven terrain.
  • Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles
  • Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold
