Job summary

SCI Engineering seeks a Technician Trainee to learn and perform construction material testing and reporting. The role emphasizes on-site work, timely submissions of reports, and adherence to safety standards in a Texas environment.

As you progress toward Technician I within 3–6 months, you’ll gain hands-on experience with supervision and mentoring, contributing to quality control and project success while balancing overtime and field responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Zero to one year prior experience required; 1 year preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Valid driver’s license and current insurance.
• Must be available for overtime and weekend work.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Basic understanding of smartphones.
• Logical approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform various tests and inspections on construction materials.
• Write reports and electronic reports regularly.
• Verbal communication with site and office personnel.
• For more experienced personnel, some supervision and training of less-experienced staff.

They will be expected to reach Technician I within 3-6 months of employment.
