Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician
Job Description:

The Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician will be responsible for performing various tests on construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates. The technician will work in a laboratory setting and will be responsible for ensuring that all tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform various tests on construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates
  • Ensure that all tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Record and analyze test results
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Prepare and maintain test reports
  • Communicate test results to project managers and other stakeholders
  • Ensure that all laboratory procedures are followed
  • Assist in the development of new testing procedures
  • Ensure that all laboratory safety procedures are followed
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials testing
  • Ability to perform various tests on construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates
  • Ability to record and analyze test results
  • Ability to maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow laboratory procedures and safety protocols
Qualifications:

High School diploma, G.E.D., or possess at least one current relevant industry certification, such as ACI Field, ACI Concrete Strength, ACI Aggregates, TxDOT SB101, SB102, SB103, SB201, SB202, 1A or 1B or other comparable industry certifications as required. Additional certifications in any of the previously mentioned certifications are preferred.

Good oral and written communications skills, ability to read and understand procedures, specifications, instructions, labels, reports, etc. Must have some knowledge of basic math and science to analyze lab results.
