Job summary

Kleinfelder's Houston, TX office is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Red River CoMET team. The role involves testing concrete, soil, and construction materials, reporting conformance, and performing field observations to verify plans and specifications.

Qualifications include 3+ years in CoMET, several ACI certifications, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong communication with clients and team

Qualifications

• 3+ years of laboratory experience in CoMET or equivalent.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician.
• ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member in a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to use a company-provided laptop or iPad and a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Bend and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and up to 50 pounds with handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on concrete, soil, and other construction materials in accordance with applicable standard test methods.
• Report verification of conformance to approved plans and specifications.
• Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, technicians, and other design professionals.
• Maintain Kleinfelder's local lab accreditations.
• Perform field observations and testing on materials testing projects to verify conformance to the construction plans and specifications.
• Submit daily field reports and data reports summarizing daily activities.

Kleinfelder's Houston, Texas office is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Red River CoMET team. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing.

Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Performing testing on concrete, soil, and other construction materials in accord ance with applicable standard test methods
• Reporting verification of conformance to approved plans and specifications
• Communicating effectively with clients, supervisors, technicians, and other design professionals
• Maintenance of Kleinfelder's local lab accreditations
• Perform field observations and testing on materials testing projects to verify conformance to the construction plans and specifications.
• Submitting daily field reports and data reports summarizin g daily activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 + years of laboratory experience in CoMET or equivalent
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician
• ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test
• Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to use a company provided laptop or iPad and a working knowledge of MS Office programs ( e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Bend and lift up-to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) repetitively and over 50 pounds (22.68 kg) using handling equipment (hand truck, etc.)

Preferred Certifications include:

• Texas Department of Transportation ( TXDOT )
• National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)

Education: High school diploma or equivalent with some college preferred.
