Job summary

S&ME is seeking motivated Construction Materials Engineering Technicians in Columbia, South Carolina, to join our Construction Services group. From entry level to experienced, you’ll receive hands‑on training, mentorship, and clear paths to advance within a collaborative, safety‑driven culture.

You will perform field and lab testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates; collect and prep samples; interpret test results; and prepare detailed reports while working closely with engineers,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred for advanced levels
• Active industry certifications (ACI, ICC) required or preferred
• Strong English communication skills and basic math proficiency
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates
• Collect and prepare samples for analysis
• Interpret test results and prepare detailed reports
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specs and safety guidelines
