Job description

Braun Intertec is seeking Experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians to join our Texarkana, TX office. As a technician, you will perform a variety of testing on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt. Onsite materials testing is conducted on various industrial, commercial, and transportation construction projects located throughout the region.

As a technician, you will receive in-depth technical training and industry certifications upon successful completion of examinations and demonstration of ability. Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine & complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
  2. Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and temperature.
  3. Perform field density tests of soils.
  4. Prepare daily reports and documentation of field activities in electronic format.
  5. Work with project managers and senior technicians or staff to ensure specifications are followed.
  6. Assist with training & mentoring of junior staff, as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. A strong safety focus and attention to detail.
  2. Excellent plan reading skills.
  3. A demonstrated math and technical aptitude.
  4. Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours as needed.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. State DOT certifications, ICC, and/or NICET certifications.
  7. 3+ years of construction materials testing experience.
  8. A High School diploma or equivalent.
  9. A valid driver’s license.
  10. The ability to lift 75+ pounds.
  11. ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification.
  12. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  13. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  14. At times, this position may be working at or on uneven terrain, varying heights, in confined spaces, or supported trenches.

Compensation Range: $48,000.00 - $72,000.00.
