Job summary

Kleinfelder's Construction Services team in California is seeking a Laboratory Construction Materials Testing Technician. The role focuses on testing soils, asphalt, aggregates, and concrete in the laboratory to verify conformance with project specs and geotechnical purposes.

Opportunity to develop certifications and grow within a fast-paced, collaborative team. Primary work will be at the Sacramento/Stockton area laboratories; travel to local projects is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records and data entry using MS Office tools.

Kleinfelder's Sacramento, and Stockton, CA offices are seeking a Laboratory Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team.

We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing.

We're looking for a person with strong initiative, who will perform routine to complex testing of construction materials in the laboratory,to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications and geotechnical engineering purposes.

The Technician will perform testing on soils, asphalt, aggregates, and concrete materials. Must be detail oriented. Technician may be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of the supervisor.

Preferred Certifications (or ability to obtain) include:

• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician - Grade I
• ACI Aggregate Testing Technician
• ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician
• Caltrans Certification Soils, Aggregates, and / or Asphalt

The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company provided training and mentoring. This is a career opportunity to become a member of a highly successful, fast paced team with a steady and growing backlog of large projects.

Must be able to use a computer and a general knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Must have own vehicle, a valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Majority of work will be at the Hayward Laboratory, but must be willing to travel locally as required to fulfill local project assignments.

Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.

Benefits: Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Scale Disclosure Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Pay range: $17.58 - $ 29.35 hourly.
