Job description

Construction Manager – Small Cell & Fiber

Seattle

We are currently recruiting for a Construction Manager for Small Cell node projects, including the identification of equipment BOMs and materials, support with Vendor / GC selection, on-site management, coordination of contractors, OEM installers, and customer representatives.

This is a field-based position.

Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in and make recommendations for Vendor / GC selection processes.
  2. Identify, track, and support procurement and release of materials required for the work.
  3. Attend deployment and customer meetings as a subject matter expert, maintain documentation, and support team leads.
  4. Make regular site visits during construction, including bids walks, pre-construction walks, in-progress visits, punch walks, and closeout visits.
  5. Schedule preconstruction meetings and inspections with applicable jurisdictional and utility inspectors.
  6. Maintain project costs within scope, hold vendors accountable, and communicate issues impacting project completion or cost to supervisors/Managers.
  7. Problem-solve onsite issues, prioritize, and make recommendations to ensure project and budget adherence.
  8. Ensure all work complies with Client standards, processes, and procedures.
  9. Maintain accurate project files and distribute closeout documents timely.
  10. Keep project tracking systems updated with complete and accurate information.
  11. Act as safety observer and QA representative, ensuring compliance with safety programs and workmanship practices.
Requirements
  1. Minimum five (5) years of telecommunications/wireless construction experience, preferably with small cells in the ROW.
  2. Knowledge of construction techniques (aerial & underground) for Small Cells and Fiber in the ROW.
  3. Familiarity with RF Sweep and PIM tests, Fiber Optic OTDR/OPL testing.
  4. Working knowledge of GO95, NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards.
  5. Experience leading and directing construction/installation crews.
  6. Experience managing multiple projects at various stages of construction and integration.
  7. Knowledge of fiber/copper standards is desirable.
  8. Experience with copper splicing and power over copper is a plus.
  9. OSHA 10 Certification (if not current, must complete within 2 weeks of start).
