Socket.dev seeks an experienced Construction Manager/Project Engineer for a federal manufacturing facility project in Atlanta. The role involves advising the Client’s PM team, reviewing weekly reports, and managing schedule and budget adherence on a six-week brownfield effort.

Responsibilities include cost tracking, risk updates, and providing weekly progress and risk documentation to stakeholders. Strong communication and MS Project suite proficiency are required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture required.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in construction management.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills, analytical skills and project management skills.
  • Software including Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Oracle Unifier and/or ProCore.

Responsibilities

  • On-site resource responsible for advising Client’s Project Management team.
  • Attend construction meetings and review Design-Builder’s weekly reports to assess progress and flag deviations.

Pay Range:$120,000 - $140,00/yr (based on qualifications and experience)

Project Details (Size, SOW, Site Background, etc.):

Manufacturing facility, brownfield project, CapEx in the $70-$100M USD range, with MEP being the main cost element. Daily Responsibilities:
  • On-site resource responsible for advising Client’s Project Management team
  • Attend construction meetings and review Design-Builder’s weekly reports to assess physical progress against baseline schedule milestones and flag deviations; Advise Client on the potential schedule and cost impacts of identified deviations.
  • Monitor actual costs and committed spending against the approved budget and identify variances as they emerge
  • Recommend corrective actions and mitigation strategies to bring construction back into alignment with plan and budget
  • Support Client’s Project Management team with reporting potential cost and schedule impact to project stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Provide a Weekly Site Progress Report: Narrative report summarizing on‑site observed deviations from plan/budget, root cause analysis, and recommended corrective actions
  • Provide Weekly Risk Register Updates: Documented list of key project risks related to Design-Builder’s scope of work, ranked by level and inclusive of mitigation actions and deadlines
Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.):
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
