Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between Company, subcontractors, and construction teams on basic project issues.
  • Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • Maintain close relationships with clients to resolve all project questions and billing inquiries.
  • Review with manager all project changes, staffing and budget considerations.
  • Supervise work of project personnel to ensure professional standards.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to meet project requirements.
  • Define project scope and develop plan to accomplish projects; monitor progress and report status.
  • Review job cost sheets and assist with monthly billings; ensure budgets are met.
  • Assist manager in securing repeat business and identifying new clients.

Summary/objective:

In this position, you will be tasked to lead and manage the construction department. Oversee installation of equipment in accordance with federal, state and company policies and regulations. Communication and daily interaction with customers, vendors, sub-contractors, local and state regulatory agencies is required. Construction Manager will need to monitor for any safety issues and correct any issues while still striving to complete the project on time. Construction Manager will direct and develop foreman, while also establishing, developing and maintaining comprehensive construction options and client-base. This position will implement the company’s policies and procedures, support internal and external marketing plans to increase revenues and profits and ensure the highest quality of customer service is provided. The CM is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization. This position will report directly to the Branch Manager. *MUST HAVE PETROLEUM EXPERIENCE*

Responsibilities:
  • Manages design/build, construction management, or construct-only projects from project assignment through completion. May be responsible for managing concurrently more than one project. Accountable for all construction activities on assigned project(s).
  • Serve as a liaison between Company, subcontractors, and construction teams on basic project issues.
  • Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • Maintain close relationships with clients to resolve all project questions, such as, but not limited to, technical requirements, completion requirements and billing inquiries.
  • Review with manager all project changes, pending or anticipated alterations to the contract, additional work requests, and all other factors, which may significantly affect staffing requirements or budget.
  • Supervise work of project personnel to ensure that it meets the highest professional standards.
  • Coordinate with other internal departments to meet project requirements.
  • Define the scope of assigned projects and develop plan to accomplish projects. Monitor progress toward deliverable schedules. Compile project status reports.
  • Review job cost sheets and assist with preparation of monthly billings. Ensure assigned projects stay within budget allocation.
  • Assist manager in securing repeat business from existing clients and identifying new clients.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma/GED required. College degree preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment is required.
  • Skilled in providing excellent customer relations by exchanging information with courtesy and consideration.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional demeanor, and develop customer relations and superior service.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of an organization internally and externally.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and understand necessary service and training manuals.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to understand and follow and convey verbal and/or demonstrated instructions.
  • Ability to maintain a good understanding of industry innovations and product availability in order to make recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Ability to safely operate personal hand tools.
  • Ability to draw upon available support resources from within the company and recognize when it is appropriate to do such.
  • Must have experience in the installation and operation of Petroleum Handling Equipment
  • Such other knowledge, skills, and abilities as are necessary in connection with additionally assigned duties.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Safety Glasses and hard hats required while performing certain tasks.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

Regional travel with occasional overnight stays are expected for this position.
