Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Construction Manager for the Night Shift on a hyperscale data center project in Saint Francisville, LA. You’ll lead subcontract coordination, schedules, and cost control while interfacing with engineering to meet aggressive delivery goals.

Experience in data center construction and firm knowledge of pre-design to closeout processes is required. The role supports hybrid work policies and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing data center construction projects or projects related to Life Science and/or Pharmaceutical Production Facility Construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building required.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of Construction Management in Civil, Structural and Architectural.
  • Experience leading contractors and Superintendents for current scope, engineering information, and document drawings/specifications for construction execution.
  • Ability to manage CSA scopes of work from the initial Bid Phase, through Execution, turnover, and close out of the Subcontract.
  • Experience in monitoring project budgets to ensure project requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Hosts weekly meetings with the Subcontractor and takes suitable notes; aligns with Subcontract Administrator to ensure items captured accurately.
  • Ensures that Subcontractor has latest version of all technical documents, including Drawings and specifications.
  • Reviews all RFIs & submittals assuring completeness prior to Subcontractor submission.
  • Monitors return of RFIs and Submittals from the Subcontractor, and expedites assistance from engineering disciplines as required.
  • Visits Subcontractor fabrication shops as required to expedite material deliveries and verify work in progress.
  • Works with Construction Management and field superintendent to ensure material deliveries are sequenced and coordinated.
  • Monitors Subcontractor’s schedule weekly and escalates issues to the ACM and Subcontracts Administrator; coordinates with field superintendents and project controls.
  • Evaluates changes with Subcontracts Administrator and ensures changes are processed into Unifier.
  • Reviews, coordinates any changes required, and approves pay applications before final ACM approval.

Routine responsibilities
  • Hosts weekly meetings with the Subcontractor and takes suitable notes. Aligns with Subcontract Administrator to ensure all items captured accurately. Distributes MM after each meeting to attendees
  • Ensures that Subcontractor has latest version of all technical documents, including Drawings and specifications.
  • Reviews all RFI’s & submittals assuring completeness prior to Subcontractor submission.
  • Monitors return of RFIs and Submittals from the Subcontractor, and expedites assistance from engineering disciplines as required
  • Visits Subcontractor fabrication shops as required to expedite material deliveries and verify work in progress
  • Works with Construction Management and field superintendent to ensure material deliveries are sequenced and coordinated
  • Monitors Subcontractor’s schedule on a weekly basis and escalates any issues to the ACM and Subcontracts Administrator, Works closely with the field superintendents, and project controls to track progress measurements
  • In conjunction with the Subcontracts Administrator, evaluates potential changes, including identified but not yet priced and unit rate to IFC pricing. Coordinates with the Subcontractor, Subcontracts Administrator, and project cost control to ensure changes get processed promptly into Unifier.
  • Reviews, coordinates any changes required, and approves pay applications before they get presented to the ACM for final approval.
Here’s what you’ll need
  • Experience in managing data center construction projects or projects related to Life Science and/or Pharmaceutical Production Facility Construction

Ideally, you’ll have the following experience
  • Ability to work with Engineering and Subcontracting to develop scopes of work for CSA related bid packages
  • Liaise between Subcontracts Department and Engineering assuring that all Engineering requirements are met as they relate to the Bid Phase process along with any changes / additions to the Bid Phase documents.
  • Working closely with Subcontracts Administration, Project Controls, Accounting, Quality and Turn over to ensure efficient close out of the Subcontract
