LJA Land Development is seeking a Construction Manager to lead construction management inspections for water/wastewater projects. You will collaborate with project managers, contractors, inspectors, and field representatives to deliver projects efficiently and meet quality standards.

You’ll organize on-site meetings, review plans for constructability, manage schedules and submittals, and coordinate cost estimates while working outdoors and across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 5+ years of construction management experience.
• Ability to attend and lead on-site and pre-construction meetings.
• Experience reviewing plans for constructability and coordinating submittals.
• Ability to prepare cost estimates and manage field coordination.

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Construction Manager at LJA Land Development, focusing on Construction Management Inspections you will provide overall construction management services for the Land Development Water/Wastewater Group while working closely with project managers, contractors, inspectors, and project representatives. This role will help support successful project delivery through construction coordination, constructability review, quality assurance/quality control site visits, schedule organization, submittal review, and cost estimating.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Serving as a liaison between project managers, contractors, and project representatives/inspectors.
• Organize or attending on‑site construction meetings and pre‑construction meetings as required.
• Periodically visiting construction sites for QA/QC.
• Reviewing construction plans and contract documents for constructability.
• Coordinating and organizing construction schedules and submittal reviews.
• Driving to and from outside meetings and inspecting water/wastewater facility project sites.
• Working outdoors as needed, including exposure to inclement weather conditions.
• Reviewing the contractors’ estimate of quantities to verify payment accuracy and approve said estimates

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience.
• Experience serving as a liaison between project managers, contractors, and project representatives/inspectors.
• Ability to attend on‑site construction meetings and pre‑construction meetings.
• Ability to periodically visit construction sites for QA/QC.
• Ability to review construction plans and contract documents for constructability.
• Ability to coordinate and organize construction schedules and submittal reviews.
• Ability to prepare cost estimates.
• Ability to drive to and from various outside meetings.
• Ability to inspect water/wastewater facility project sites.
• Ability to work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Experience supporting construction management services for water/wastewater or land development projects.
• Strong organization skills to help manage schedules, submittals, meetings, and project coordination.
• A collaborative approach to working with internal project teams, contractors, inspectors, and field representatives.
• A detail-oriented mindset when reviewing plans, contract documents, estimates, and field conditions.
