PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Construction Manager (II) to oversee safe, on-time, on-budget installation of DI equipment at the project site. You will represent PowerSecure, coordinate with customers, utilities, and AHJs, and manage subcontractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities include Leading meetings, reviewing docs, issuing POs, and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across programs while maintaining professional communication with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with 4+ years in construction; energy industries preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction management, financials, and construction.
  • Experience with general contractors, subcontractors, customers, engineers, utilities, and AHJs.
  • Ability to identify and manage priorities with urgency while maintaining quality and service.
  • Proficient with computers and standard office software and construction management software.
  • Able to read and interpret construction documents, submittals and site specs.

  • Coordinate with parties for timely project execution.
  • Communicate with senior staff to keep projects installed safely, timely, and on budget.

Job Summary:

The primary duties of the Construction Manager (II) are to ensure the installation of the DI equipment is completed safely, on time, on budget, and within the specifications of the project. The Construction Manager will represent PowerSecure at the project site level, oversee all construction activities, be present for all equipment deliveries, manage subcontractors and internal resources, as well as interfacing with the customer, utility, and local AHJ’s.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills)
  • High School Diploma with 4+ years of experience in construction; energy industries preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction management, financials, and construction
  • Experience working with General Contractors, subcontractors, customers, Engineers, utilities, and AHJ’s.
  • Ability to identify and manage priorities with urgency, while maintaining high quality and customer service.
  • Proficient with computer and proficient with standard office software and construction management software.
  • Proficient with the ability to read and interpret construction documents, product data submittals and site specifications.
  • Must be punctual, organized, and professional.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication Must be able to lead and conduct meetings in various formats.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain safe and healthy work sites by following company standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements.
  • Coordinate and administer daily safety briefs with contractors and company employees to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate and lead project meetings with customer, utility, subcontractors, and/or other.
  • Fundamentally understand the financials of a project and able to create and issue Purchase Orders.
  • Ensure project sites are always left in a tidy manner and follow housekeeping standards and procedures.
  • Properly coordinate with respective parties for timely execution of project
  • Properly communicate with Senior Staff to ensure each project is installed safely, timely, and on budget.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in various positions including low to the ground or on a ladder.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for 3-4 hours at a time
  • Travel required (70%+), must be willing and able to drive company vehicle and/or fly commercially if necessary.
