Responsibilities

Construction Manager – Heavy Civil Earthworks

Candidzone is a leading recruitment and HR solutions provider, connecting experienced professionals with reputable organizations across various industries. We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager – Heavy Civil Earthworks for a major project in Texas, USA.

The ideal candidate will have strong site-based experience in heavy civil earthworks, mass grading, excavation, site preparation, drainage, and construction management, with the ability to lead crews and subcontractors while delivering projects within demanding schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day site activities for heavy civil earthworks and site preparation
• Supervise mass excavation, mass fill, cut & fill, grading, and subgrade preparation
• Oversee soil stabilization/lime treatment, flexible base, geogrid, geotextile, and heavy haul road works
• Manage site drainage, CSP culverts, stormwater controls, and construction water management
• Ensure compliance with erosion and sediment control requirements, SWPPP, and BMP maintenance
• Supervise earthwork crews, subcontractors, plant, equipment, and daily construction operations
• Monitor QA/QC activities, compaction, proof-rolling, materials testing, and survey control
• Track quantities, productivity, progress, and construction quality
• Coordinate work to meet strict client milestones and compressed construction schedules

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience in heavy civil earthworks and mass grading
• Knowledge of TxDOT Item 247 and Item 260 and TCEQ stormwater requirements
• Experience with construction quality control and earthwork testing
• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Texas / US Gulf Coast heavy civil experience is strongly preferred

• Must already hold valid US work authorization permitting employment in the United States
• Must be available to travel to the project location within 15 days
• Willingness to work 60 hours per week, Monday to Saturday
• Strong site-based construction management experience is essential
