Job summary

GPT Renewables is recruiting for experienced Traveling Construction Site Superintendents/Managers for direct-hire opportunities supporting renewable energy solar construction projects.

This role leads day-to-day field operations and coordinates with Project Managers, Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to established quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
• 3–5+ years of construction leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience as Construction Superintendent or similar field leadership role.
• OSHA 30 Certification Required; Valid driver's license; ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily onsite construction activities.
• Manage field personnel, foremen, subcontractors, and trades.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, including 3-week look-ahead schedules.

Position Overview

GPT Renewables is recruiting for experienced Traveling Construction Site Superintendents/Managers for direct-hire opportunities supporting renewable energy solar construction projects.

This position will lead day-to-day field operations and coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to established quality standards.

The ideal candidate has strong construction leadership experience, is comfortable managing multiple crews and subcontractors, and is willing to travel extensively to project sites.

Employment Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time
Travel: 95–100% – Nationwide project travel
Compensation: $32–$45/hour, commensurate with experience
Bonus: 5% annual target bonus based on company and individual performance
Lodging: Up to $2,500/month provided toward lodging
Per Diem:$65/day worked
Company Vehicle: Company truck provided

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily onsite construction activities.

Manage field personnel, Foremen, subcontractors, and construction trades.

Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, state, federal, and site-specific safety requirements.

Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, tools, inspections, and other resources required to maintain project schedules.

Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Foremen, and other project stakeholders.

Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, manufacturer documentation, and construction requirements.

Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.

Develop and maintain project schedules, including 3-week look-ahead schedules and weekly updates.

Conduct pre-construction planning and onsite project meetings.

Generate and manage RFIs to resolve discrepancies or clarify project requirements.

Monitor field productivity, manpower, equipment, materials, and project costs.

Ensure field teams have the information and resources necessary to perform their work safely and efficiently.

Mentor and train field personnel while supporting strong crew performance and teamwork.

Identify and proactively resolve safety, schedule, quality, and operational issues.

Communicate project progress and field conditions to project leadership.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.

Renewable energy, solar, electrical, civil, or commercial construction experience preferred.

3–5+ years of construction & leadership or supervisory experience.

Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent, Site Superintendent, General Superintendent, Foreman, or similar field leadership role.

OSHA 30 Certification Required

Valid driver's license required.

Ability to travel extensively and remain onsite for project assignments.

Experience with construction scheduling, manpower planning, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.

Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
