Job summary

Turner & Townsend Heery is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our team in support of large-scale Government construction projects. The ideal individual will have prior experience supporting large-scale construction projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating stakeholders, tracking milestones, and ensuring governance; a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years PM experience are required, with proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or applicable bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant project management experience.
  • Strong organizational and management skills – the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and suppliers to deliver compliant projects.
  • Analyze, track, and manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slips.
  • Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized.
  • Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
  • Produce formal project status reports and other reports as required.
  • Monitor progress of multiple construction projects to ensure design standards are applied correctly.
  • Manage interface between all suppliers through trackers and reviews.
  • Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
  • Respond rapidly to RFIs from the field.
  • Offer cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance as needed.

Responsibilities:



  • Manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and supplychainsto deliver compliant projects.

  • Can analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid scheduleslips.

  • Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized

  • Ensure application of best practice on all projects.

  • Production of formal project status reports and other reports asrequired.

  • Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards areappliedcorrectly.

  • Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.

  • Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.

  • Forecast and update key project milestones.

  • Manage andmonitorlocal design teamsin accordance withcommission criteria.

  • Provide technical support to owners, architects, generalcontractorsand regional stakeholders.

  • Rapid response to RFIs from the field.

  • Provideexpertisefor cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance whererequired.

  • Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals,timelinesand costs from architects,contractorsand suppliers.

  • Client management –assistin developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.

  • Strategic Thinking -providesadvice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’objectivesand businessobjectives.

  • Knowledge management – ensure that key information and learnings generated from each projectiscaptured.

  • Process improvement – Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes

  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or applicable bachelor’s degree and or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 3-5years of relevantproject managementexperience.

  • Strong organizational and management skills –the abilityto work effectively and collaboratively withthebroader team.

  • Proficiencyin Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management tools.
