Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee electrical systems for a mega project in Boise, ID. You will own the scope from pre-construction through on-site execution, coordinating with subcontractors and trade partners to align drawings and submittals.

The role requires deep NEC/IEEE knowledge and experience with Procore, Bluebeam and Primavera P6. Expect a 50-hour workweek on an on-site schedule with a 12-month initial contract and potential extension.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction experience on mega/high-tech projects focusing on electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, IEEE standards and applicable electrical codes.
• Experience with design and pre-construction activities including bids, equipment buyout and RFIs.
• Ability to coordinate with customers, subcontractors and regulatory partners.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical distribution systems, switchgear, transformers and substations on a mega project.
• Lead pre-construction activities: equipment buyout, scrubbing drawings, subcontracts alignment.
• Facilitate training and run startup meetings with large teams.
• Review submittals and manage RFIs across all teams and partners.

Job Description

An Insight Global customer in the construction industry is seeking to hire a Construction Manager to oversee the electrical systems for a mega project in Boise, ID. This project is multiple billions of dollars in total budget, is supporting a high-tech manufacturing client, and is expected to last into 2028. As a Construction Manager in this role, you'll be expected to complete all pre-construction tasks including equipment buyout and scrubbing drawings to align proper subcontractors and trade partners, take full ownership of your project scope including proper documentation and alignment across all teams and partners, facilitate training, run startup meetings with hundreds of teammates, review project submittal information, and receive and distribute RFIs.The specific scope of work for this role will be electrical distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, substations, power monitoring systems, grounding systems, and related electrical infrastructure. The initial contract will last 12 months, but extensions are likely. We can offer pay at $70/hr for this role as well as a generous per diem package for candidates who qualify. Exact compensation may differ due to education or experience. Candidates can expect to work 50 hours per week. Generally, it is expected that employees in this role arrive to the job site early around 6 AM, but there may be some flexibility required.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of construction experience on mega and/or high-tech construction projects supporting electrical systems.Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, IEEE standards, and applicable electrical codes.Ability to work with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and others.Experience receiving bids from subcontractors, equipment buyout, and other pre-construction activities.Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate customers, internal and external stakeholders, subcontractors, and regulatory partners.Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.Experience managing electrical contractors responsible for medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems.
