Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for our Data Center Design, Engineering & Construction team to drive complex campus-scale builds with a focus on uptime and efficiency.

You will manage budgets, schedules, contracts, and turnover while coordinating with GC, vendors, and internal partners to deliver on time with high quality. A strong background in multi-project data center or mission-critical construction is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a degree or equivalent experience in engineering or construction management.
• 12+ years in construction management, especially for large-scale, mission-critical or data center builds.
• Knowledge of civil, structural, electrical and mechanical systems; capital budgeting and contract administration.
• Strong negotiation skills with a solutions-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction, commissioning and turnover of a data center within a campus program.
• Manage the project budget and cost changes; negotiate best pricing.
• Oversee schedule and risks to ensure reliable turnover dates.
• Handle warranty work and tenant improvements in live environments as needed.
• Communicate status and risks of the project to leadership.
• Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders.
• Mitigate risk through pre-planning, collaboration and innovative planning.
• Develop cost savings and identify underruns early.
• Partner with General Contractor and vendors to build relationships.
• Coordinate with internal cross-functional partners for collaboration.
• Coordinate needs with Procurement/Sourcing to support the project.
• Support pre-construction efforts for upcoming projects.
• Promote prefabrication strategies.
• Support the development of capital budgets and ROMs.
• Support campus Construction Manager with campus-wide book of work.
• Support on-site inspections for zero punch-list and expeditious turnover.
• 10% travel to headquarters and Meta sites; respond to emergencies as needed.

Summary:

Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Data Center Design, Engineering & Construction team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. Building and operating data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability and capital conservation. The data center engineering team thinks from chip to chiller (or electrical substation), determining configurations and ensuring maximum efficiency of our compute infrastructure.

Required Skills:

Construction Manager - Data Center Design, Engineering and Construction Responsibilities:

1. Manage the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Data Center within a campus program

2. Manage the budget associated with the project

3. Manage the cost change process and negotiate best pricing

4. Manage the schedule and associated risks to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates

5. Manage warranty and tenant improvement work in the live environment when/as necessary

6. Communicate upward regarding the status and risks of the project

7. Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders as needed

8. Mitigate risk for the project through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnership

1. Bachelors in engineering or construction management or equivalent work experience

2. 12+ years of work experience in the construction management industry

3. Multi-Project experience in large scale construction management, mission critical, infrastructure, and or data center construction

4. General knowledge of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems

5. Knowledge of capital budget management and contract administration

6. Negotiation skills and experience providing solutions to problems

1. Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including fire protection regulations

2. LEAN Construction knowledge and application of those tools

4. Procore and eBuilder software experience

5. BIM 360 and Bluebeam software experience

7. Building Environment Accreditations (i.e. LEED, SITES, TRUE, WELL)

8. Proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

9. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

10. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

11. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Public Compensation:

$150,000/year to $209,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
