Job summary

Deployed Global Solutions, LLC is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee planning, design, budget, renovation and installation of a U.S. federal secure construction site in the Northern Territory of Australia.

The role requires leading installation teams and subcontractors, ensuring safety, schedule and budget, with experience on federal projects and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance; relocation may be required for up to 24 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or 10+ years leading crews.
• 10+ years experience in construction/renovation of facilities including government projects.

Expected Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 per year

Construction Manager will manage multiple aspects of the planning, design, budget, renovation, installation, and construction activities of a U.S. federal secure construction site in the Northern Territory of Australia. The Construction Manager will work alongside teams of installation technicians and trades employees, supervise subcontractors, and monitor the completion of the federal construction project. The ideal candidate has experience leading teams on U.S. federal construction projects and is well-versed in a variety of construction tools and techniques, especially in classified environments.

Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Lead teams of construction tradesmen and manage construction activities to ensure project completion on time and on budget.
• Coordinate delivery of materials and equipment to project location.
• Directly manage trades employees, contractors and vendors to achieve construction project milestones and overcome day-to-day challenges.
• Develop and maintain successful client relationships.
• Work in a common data environment, along with processes, procedures, and security around the construction team's information exchanges.
• Create construction document packages for internal review and construction bidding and update files with as-built documents.
• Meet customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance goals.
• Perform administrative tasks associated with running a construction site, including but not limited to reports, QA/QC, payroll validation, daily meetings, etc.
• Oversee technical aspects of projects and perform technical tasks in areas of expertise as needed.
• Ensure adherence to the budget and when unexpected complications arise, making quick and necessary adjustments to daily schedules and logistics.
• Team and work with multiple subcontractors and vendors across multiple disciplines and projects.

Skills / Specifications

• Strong technical facilities installation skills and understanding of construction methods, blueprints, and regulations.
• Deep familiarity with the performance of skilled trade work, including finish carpentry, electrical, and mechanical (including HVAC).
• Ability to plan, coordinate, organize, oversee, and direct activities regarding the construction and maintenance of federal facilities.
• Knowledge of safe working practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others.
• Exceptional time management and initiative.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented and able to work multiple projects and client engagements at the same time.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both written and orally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and common construction industry software.

Supervisory Responsibility

Will manage construction personnel, including trades employees and installation technicians, during construction project execution.

This joboperatesin construction environments, inside and outside, in all weather conditions, and in professional offices. The employee must routinely use toolsofthe construction trades and standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Regular lifting up to 75 lbs. may occur.

Position Type / Expect Hours of Work

This is a full-time position located in the Northern Territory of Australia. Must be willing and available to relocate for an assignment of up to 24 months. Typical hours are 40+ hours per week. Weekends and holidays may be required.

Travel

No travel is required other than to and from the construction site in the Northern Territory of Australia.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management (or a similar discipline) or 10+ years’ working as a tradesperson and leading construction crews.
• 10+ years’ experience performing construction and/or renovation of facilities, to include:
  • Experience supporting government customers
  • Planning, design, and budgeting
  • Oversight of subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality standards are met
• Previous experience constructing/renovating secured office spaces, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and/or shielded enclosures required.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

• Must have andmaintainTop Secretfederal security clearancewith eligibility for SCI access.
• Mustbe authorized towork in the U.S.and Australia.
• Must be able to pass federal contract OCONUS deployment requirements published by the US Government from time to time.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check.
• Mustsuccessfullypass pre-employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
• Mustpossessa valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID requirements.
