GCC is seeking a Senior Architect/Engineer to lead construction oversight for the VA EHRM program, including Nashville and Albion Street VA Clinic projects. The role emphasizes design and construction of medical facilities with strong focus on schedule, cost control, and compliance.

The successful candidate will hold an ABET‑accredited degree, have at least 10 years of experience, supervise multidisciplinary staff, review contract documents, and deliver daily progress and inspection reports to

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily progress reports and inspection reports and oversee the QA team to ensure timely project oversight.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with building codes, front-end specs and technical drawings.
• Prepare and review change orders and support adherence to integrated master schedules.

Job description

The Veteran’s Administration is conducting Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades across Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Nashville and Albion Street VA Clinic (CBOC).

GCC is providing comprehensive program of Construction Services including Project Engineering, Planning, Scheduling, and Value Management Assessments, Safety Compliance Reviews, Monitoring and Testing Compliance, Record Keeping, Cost Estimating /Budget Control, and Change Management Documentation Management. The services include Quality Assurance Monitoring, and monitoring a contractor’s adherence to standards to meet the specifications and to avoid deficiencies in the work. Other requirements include the work performed daily, performing weekly and monthly reviews and reports, change order proposal reviews and schedule development adherence, and recommendations pertaining to the integrated master schedules, written and oral communications and coordination efforts as required. The intent of the services is to expand the VA’s capabilities for contract management oversight of projects and project support services for the EHRM projects.

• The Senior Architect/Engineer shall hold a Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering from an ABET accredited school and it is required that the individual have a minimum of 10 years of experience in both design and construction with a focus on medical facilities.
• Shall be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each in relation to this Project.
• Shall possess the knowledge of Construction Contract Documents including Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings to readily understand and assess the requirements.
• Must have the skillset and a working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting and scheduling to lead to the project’s success.
• Must possess the skillset and competency to supervise and manage personnel of diverse skillsets.
• Shall provide project construction management and shall provide decisive direction regarding business, technical and project management involving multi-disciplinary and diverse functional activities.
• Shall be responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule. They shall maintain daily progress reports and inspection reports and shall lead the inspection and quality assurance team assigned to projects to ensure timely and effective project oversight. Physical Requirements –

Must be able to carry 20 lbs. for a distance of 50 feet and be able to perform simply grasping, pushing, pulling and fine hand manipulation.
