Overview

Overview: A Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing internal construction and capital projects from start to finish. This includes planning, coordination, communication, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards, safety regulations, and building codes. They collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all phases of construction projects, from planning and budgeting to completion and handover.
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers for smooth project execution.
  • Monitoring project progress and quality, addressing issues or delays.
  • Overseeing site activities, including site preparation, building erection, utilities installation, and finishing.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual standards.
  • Implementing risk management strategies to mitigate hazards and disruptions.
  • Preparing estimates, budgets, and cost forecasts.
  • Monitoring expenditures and tracking costs to adhere to budgets.
  • Negotiating contracts and managing contractual documents.
  • Ensuring safety compliance and conducting safety inspections.
  • Serving as the primary contact for stakeholders and facilitating communication.
  • Implementing quality assurance protocols and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field with 7-9 years of experience; Master’s preferred.

Working Conditions
